The Economic Effects of Coconut Product Exports in the Agricultural Sector of the Philippines

The coconut industry is one of the most important sectors of the economy of the Philippines. Coconut goods are the Philippines' most significant agricultural export. However, the international exports and competitive advantage could be improved, according to the Coconut Farmers and Industry Roadmap (COCOFIRM). This research paper provides a synopsis of the volume of coconuts and its value-added product in the Philippines including export values of traditional and non-traditional coconut products. This study examines the connection between the dependent variable and independent variables by the application of the Multiple Regression. Moreover, this research aims to evaluate the economic effects of exporting Coconut Products, Production Value of Coconuts, Foreign Direct Investment Inflows, Price of Coconuts, Agricultural Expenditures along with the objective of assessing the impact of the exports of the coconut products in the Philippines. The annual data from 1991 to 2020 helps to obtain results and use for further interpretation using regression analysis.
